Telangana government advances Intermediate exams to February end

Hyderabad: The Telangana government decided to hold the Intermediate annual exams earlier this academic year. The move aims to give students, especially second-year candidates, more time to prepare for EAMCET and IIT-JEE. The Board of Intermediate Education sent the proposal, and the government approved it on Thursday.

Usually, Intermediate exams begin in the first week of March. This year, they will start in the last week of February. According to the schedule, first-year exams will begin on February 25, and second-year exams on February 26. Last year, the tests started on March 5.

Officials said early completion of exams will help announce results sooner. Teachers can then focus on the next academic year’s admission process in government junior colleges.

Practical exams and fee details

The board will conduct practical exams in three phases. They will run from the last week of January to the first week of February across Telangana.

Officials also announced key fee decisions. Each student appearing for practical exams will pay ₹30. Private college students in the first year must pay ₹220 as recognition fee and ₹15 towards the green fund. Intermediate Education Secretary Krishna Aditya issued the orders.
