Hyderabad: Government Advisor V. Hanumantha Rao urged the Revenue Department to act on land issues and registration errors.
He said land-related complaints dominated the grievances raised during a face-to-face programme at Gandhi Bhavan.
Hanumantha Rao said the previous government built Pragathi Bhavan. However, people had little access to raise their problems there.
After the Congress government came to power, it converted Pragathi Bhavan into Praja Bhavan. The facility became a centre for public grievances, he said.
Similarly, the Congress launched the face-to-face programme at Gandhi Bhavan. The initiative aimed to provide another platform for people to raise their problems.
He said many of the complaints received during the programme concerned land matters. The Revenue Department needed to address them, he said.
Land issues and registration errors need attention
Hanumantha Rao said the earlier Patel-Patwari system had resulted in fewer land problems.
However, he alleged that the Dharani system introduced during the KCR government had brought several additional difficulties.
He also alleged that landlords were illegally registering lands distributed by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Registration offices were also witnessing mistakes, he said. Therefore, the Revenue Minister should take firm action to prevent such errors.
Hanumantha Rao called for effective measures to resolve land issues raised by the public. He also sought stronger action from the Revenue Department on registration-related grievances.
