Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Mahesh Kumar Goud on Tuesday dismissed reports of a Revanth Reddy rift as “completely baseless.” He said differences of opinion had occurred but were resolved amicably within the party.
Speaking informally to reporters at Gandhi Bhavan, Goud reflected on his two years as president of the Telangana Congress. He described his tenure as deeply fulfilling and high-energy.
The TPCC chief said the Congress organisation had been strengthened down to the booth level across Telangana. He also said his primary political objective, along with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, remained making Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister.

Addressing speculation about internal friction, Goud said there had never been a clash between him and the Chief Minister. “There was never any clash between Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and me,” Goud said. He added that differences of opinion were natural in any political organisation.
Goud said reports during the past week suggesting a gap or dispute between them had no basis. Whenever differences arose, both sides resolved them amicably by the evening, he said. Moreover, Goud maintained that Revanth Reddy had never interfered in party affairs.
The TPCC president also spoke about the state government’s caste survey. He claimed the exercise had delivered genuine social justice to Telangana.
However, Goud accused the Union government of attempting to suppress the initiative. He pledged that a Congress-led government at the Centre would implement such a survey across the country.
Revanth Reddy rift denial comes amid discipline row
Goud also addressed recent disciplinary action involving BC Minister Konda Surekha. He acknowledged that the decision to remove her had been difficult for him personally. “I was personally saddened by the decision, but action was taken strictly in alignment with directives from the All India Congress Committee,” he said.
The TPCC chief maintained that the party would act against anyone who violated organisational discipline, regardless of their position or stature. He said the AICC had adopted a zero-tolerance approach towards indiscipline within the Congress.
Goud’s comments on the Revanth Reddy rift reports came as he stressed both organisational discipline and coordination between the government and party leadership.
