Singareni workers to receive ₹419 crore in Diwali bonuses on November 5

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has directed Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) to distribute ₹419 crore in Diwali bonuses to eligible workers on November 5. Each eligible employee will receive up to ₹1,10,250 under the Performance Linked Reward (PLR) scheme.

Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka issued instructions to the Singareni management on Friday. He directed officials to credit the bonus amounts directly into workers’ bank accounts on the scheduled date.

The Singareni Diwali bonus payment follows the distribution of nearly ₹600 crore in profit-sharing bonuses earlier this month. The latest announcement provides an additional payment to eligible workers following the earlier profit-sharing distribution.

According to official statements, the company has allocated approximately ₹419 crore for the PLR disbursement. The Performance Linked Reward, commonly called the Diwali bonus, will provide eligible employees with payments of up to ₹1,10,250 each.

Bhatti Vikramarka instructed the management to ensure that workers received the amounts directly through their bank accounts without delays. Meanwhile, Singareni Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Buddhaprakash Jyoti held consultations with senior administrative officials regarding the payment arrangements.

The discussions focused on completing the necessary preparations to ensure the scheduled transfer of bonus funds. The management was directed to finalise the arrangements before November 5 so that eligible employees could receive their payments as instructed.

The government had already distributed nearly ₹600 crore to Singareni employees under the profit-sharing arrangement earlier in October. The additional ₹419 crore PLR allocation represents a separate payment for eligible workers.

Bhatti Vikramarka also outlined the government’s measures to support the expansion of Singareni Collieries. He described the company as an important enterprise contributing to the country’s energy requirements.

Furthermore, the Deputy Chief Minister stressed the need to improve operational efficiency and reduce coal production costs. He said these measures were necessary to maintain Singareni’s competitiveness in the wider energy sector.

The government was pursuing measures aimed at expanding the company’s operations while improving production efficiency. Meanwhile, the Singareni management continued preparations for the November 5 disbursement following the Deputy Chief Minister’s instructions.
