Hyderabad: Hyderabad Traffic Police cracked a fake number plate case during enforcement checks and shared details with Attapur police, who apprehended the accused.
Police identified the accused as Syed Rizwan Ali, a resident of Upparpally in Rajendranagar.
Investigators found that the accused allegedly used the fake registration number MH04KW7706 to avoid traffic challans.

Police said the fake registration number resulted in traffic challans being issued to the genuine vehicle owner.
Attapur police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Motor Vehicles Act.
Officials issued a notice to the accused under Section 35(3) of BNSS.
Police said investigators were trying to identify the original registration number of the vehicle involved in the case.
Hyderabad Traffic Police warned that using fake or tampered number plates is a punishable offence.
Officials advised citizens to report suspected misuse of vehicle registration numbers through the e-Challan portal, official email or WhatsApp helpline.
