Hyderabad: Hyderabad Traffic Police detected a fake number plate case during enforcement checks and alerted Banjara Hills police, leading to the apprehension of an accused.
Police identified the accused as Gaikwad Navanath, 40, a resident of Gokulnagar in Mallepally. Investigation revealed that he fixed fake registration number AP11AA6077 on his Hero Passion Plus motorcycle.
According to police, the accused used the fake number plate to evade traffic challans. He also attempted to mislead enforcement authorities.
Officials said the misuse of the registration number caused traffic challans to be wrongly issued to the original vehicle owner. The number belonged to a Honda Shine motorcycle owned by Vikky Paswan of Rajendranagar.
