Hyderabad: Charminar police secured convictions in two e-petty cases involving public obstruction and illegal occupation of road space near Charminar.
The I Special Judicial Magistrate Court at Gandhi Bhavan convicted two offenders booked by Charminar police in separate cases.
Police booked Maher Unnisa, 46, a resident of Khilwath, under Sections 66(C) and 223 of BNS for obstructing pedestrian and vehicular movement.
The court sentenced her to one day simple imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 100.
In another case, police booked Syed Abdul Amair, 26, also a resident of Khilwath, under Sections 27/76 and 223 of BNS for illegally occupying public road space near Charminar.
E-petty cases result in jail terms
The court sentenced Syed Abdul Amair to two days simple imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 100.
SI K. Raj Sheker and CDO PC-3248 M. Mahender detected and pursued both e-petty cases. Following the convictions, authorities shifted both offenders to judicial custody.
Meanwhile, Charminar police warned that officials would strictly act against encroachments and public obstructions through the digital e-petty enforcement system.
Police said the measures aimed to ensure smooth pedestrian movement, public safety and emergency access in the Charminar area.
