Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police arrested three alleged drug peddlers and seized MDMA and OG Kush worth Rs.16.40 lakh in a drug case.
Gachibowli Police and SOT Cyberabad conducted the operation under the NDPS Act. Police also apprehended 16 alleged consumers during the investigation.
The arrested suspects were identified as Koripella Yashwanth Sai Shanmukh, 26, Md Razal Abdul Gafoor, 26, and Navina KD, 22. Police registered the case at Gachibowli Police Station.
Police first arrested Yashwanth near Kindom Pub Road in Vattinagulapally on August 11. Officers also apprehended 16 consumers during that operation.
During questioning, Yashwanth allegedly told police that he obtained MDMA from Razal in Thrissur and Navina in Bengaluru. Based on that information, police launched operations in Kerala and Karnataka.
Officers arrested Razal in Thrissur on August 18. Police said he admitted supplying 44.41 grams of MDMA to Yashwanth.
Razal allegedly told investigators that he obtained the drug from a Nigerian national identified as Sam. Police are continuing their investigation into the alleged supply chain.
The same day, police arrested Navina at Begur in Bengaluru. A search of her residence reportedly resulted in the seizure of 51 grams of MDMA and 50 grams of OG Kush.
According to police, Navina said she obtained the drugs from a Kerala-based friend identified as Aneshwar. Investigators are examining the alleged source and wider network.
Cyberabad drug case expands across three cities
The total seizure included 95.41 grams of MDMA and 50 grams of OG Kush. Police valued the MDMA at Rs.11.40 lakh and the OG Kush at Rs.5 lakh.
Officers also seized two mobile phones during the operation. Police said the total value of the seized drugs and other property was around Rs.16.40 lakh.
The arrests took place under the supervision of senior officers from Serilingampally Zone and SOT Cyberabad. The teams included DCPs, additional DCPs, an ACP and personnel from Gachibowli Police Station.

Police assured informants that they would keep their identities confidential. The department said public cooperation would help identify and stop illegal drug supply networks.
The Cyberabad drug case remains under investigation. Police are examining the alleged suppliers, financial links and other possible connections in the network.
