Hyderabad: Posters claiming that Bandi Bhageerath was absconding surfaced in several parts of Hyderabad after police registered a POCSO case against him.
The posters urged people to inform the nearest police station if they found any information about his whereabouts.
Police said his mobile phone had remained switched off for the last few days and added that teams were searching for him.
Pet Basheerabad police registered the case following a complaint filed by a minor girl.
SIT probes POCSO case linked to Bandi Bhageerath
The complainant alleged that he sexually assaulted her.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy reviewed the case and directed DGP CV Anand to take immediate action.
Following the instructions, the DGP constituted a Special Investigation Team to probe the case.
The SIT issued notices asking the accused to appear for questioning at 2 pm on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, he approached the Telangana High Court seeking anticipatory bail.
