Azharuddin highlights women empowerment at saree distribution programme

Hyderabad: Public Enterprises and Minorities Welfare Minister Mohammed Azharuddin said the Telangana Government is implementing several women empowerment initiatives aimed at improving the economic, educational and social status of women.

The minister spoke at the Indira Mahila Shakti Saree Distribution Programme held at Banjara Bhavan in Banjara Hills on Saturday.

Addressing women beneficiaries, Azharuddin said the government under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is prioritising welfare programmes that strengthen the position of women in society.

Meanwhile, the minister said empowering women is central to the government’s vision of inclusive and sustainable development.

He also highlighted efforts to ensure that welfare schemes reach every eligible beneficiary across the state.

Further, Azharuddin interacted with women who received sarees under the Indira Mahila Shakti programme.

The beneficiaries participated in large numbers and expressed support for the initiative.

Additionally, Rajya Sabha MP Anil Kumar Yadav, Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender and MLC Venkat Balmoor attended the event.

GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan, chairpersons of various government corporations, senior officials, public representatives and party leaders were also present.

The dignitaries appreciated the government’s focus on women welfare and acknowledged the impact of programmes aimed at improving dignity, confidence and economic security.

The programme concluded with saree distribution and an interaction session between officials and beneficiaries.
