Hyderabad: The Telangana government will celebrate completion of the 99-day Praja Palana drive with statewide programmes from June 2 to June 12.
The decision was taken during a Cabinet Sub-Committee meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu at the Secretariat on Tuesday.
Ministers N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Duddilla Sridhar Babu and Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy attended the review meeting.
The committee reviewed programmes conducted at village, mandal, constituency and district levels under the Praja Palana drive.
Ministers instructed officials to organise more public participation programmes during the celebrations.
The government will conduct Environment Week events, road safety awareness drives and anti-drug campaigns during the 12-day programme.
Departments will also organise women and child protection initiatives, tourism promotion activities and urban development programmes.
Officials will additionally conduct foundation stone laying and inauguration ceremonies for renewable energy projects.
Praja Palana drive linked to insurance survey
The Cabinet Sub-Committee also reviewed the “Indiramma Family Life Insurance” scheme introduced to provide social security for families across Telangana.
Officials decided to conduct a comprehensive door-to-door survey to ensure coverage of every eligible household in the state.
The government will organise special camps for people left out of the survey process.
Authorities said awareness programmes would explain the benefits of the insurance scheme to the public.
The committee also decided to design a special logo for the programme.
Officials will place logo stickers on houses where the survey process has been completed.
The ministers directed all departments to work in coordination and ensure smooth implementation of programmes.
Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao instructed departments to prepare and submit detailed action plans immediately.
DGP C.V. Anand, Special Chief Secretaries Jayesh Ranjan, Vikas Raj, Naveen Mittal, Vani Prasad and Dana Kishore attended the meeting along with other senior officials.
