Telangana invites applications for TG RERA chairperson post

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has invited applications for the post of TG RERA chairperson. It issued a notification on Friday to begin the appointment process.

The notification stated that interested candidates should submit their applications along with supporting documents by June 8.

Applicants must submit their applications to the office of the Special Chief Secretary, Hyderabad Metropolitan Area and Urban Development Department.

The post fell vacant after former chairman Dr N. Satyanarayana, a retired IAS officer, resigned due to health reasons.

Meanwhile, the government entrusted Hyderabad Metropolitan Area and Urban Development Department Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan with additional charge. He will oversee the authority’s activities until a full-time appointment is made.

TG RERA chairperson selection process begins

The government initiated the recruitment process to appoint a full-time TG RERA chairperson for the Telangana Real Estate Regulatory Authority.

According to the notification, candidates should have served as an Additional Secretary in the Central or State government. They may also have held an equivalent position.

Applicants should possess at least 20 years of experience. Eligible fields include urban development, housing, real estate, infrastructure, economics, planning, law, commerce, accountancy and public administration.

The selected candidate will serve for a maximum of five years. The tenure will also end upon attaining 65 years of age, whichever comes earlier.

The post carries a monthly salary of Rs 1.50 lakh. Additionally, the chairperson will receive a house rent allowance of Rs 50,000.

The government will also provide vehicle facilities as per existing rules.

Meanwhile, a committee headed by the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court will scrutinise the applications.

The committee will examine eligible candidates and recommend a suitable person for appointment.

Legal experts said the selection process could take more than a month to complete.
