Hyderabad: A Food Safety inspection at a snacks manufacturing unit in Nagole led to the seizure of food products after officials found several violations during a surprise visit.
Acting on a newspaper report, the Flying Squad of the Commissioner of Food Safety, Telangana, inspected M/s Balaji Pheni & Namkeen Unit in Nagole.
Officials found multiple deviations from food safety norms during the Food Safety inspection.
Food Safety inspection leads to seizure of food products
During the inspection, officials seized 150 kg of cooking oil, 720 kg of sev and 120 kg of potato chips.
The department will issue notices to the unit and initiate adjudication proceedings under the Food Safety and Standards Act.
Officials said the action forms part of ongoing efforts to improve compliance with food safety regulations and protect public health.
Meanwhile, the Food Safety Department advised consumers to buy snacks, namkeen and other food products only from licensed establishments.
Additionally, consumers should check product quality, packaging details and expiry dates before consumption.
Officials said they would continue regular inspections to ensure food businesses comply with safety standards.
