DGP Anand outlines new policing priorities in statewide conference

Hyderabad: Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) C.V. Anand conducted a mega video conference with police officers of the rank of Sub-Inspector and above. He used the meeting to outline new policing priorities for the state.

Around 6,500 officers participated in the conference. The DGP spoke about the government’s expectations and the changing nature of policing in Telangana.

New policing priorities focus on cybercrime and public safety

The DGP announced plans to establish several specialised units. He said the move would strengthen enforcement and improve public safety.

The proposed measures include a dedicated traffic and road safety wing. The department will also create a technology team to promote modern policing tools.

Additionally, Telangana Police plans to establish a Vigilance and Enforcement Task Force. The unit will focus on preventing revenue losses.

Anand also announced a special Anti-Food Adulteration unit. The department plans the initiative amid concerns over rising cancer cases and food contamination.

The DGP outlined the responsibilities of district Superintendents of Police and Police Commissioners. He directed them to conduct regular crime review meetings and inspect police stations frequently.

Furthermore, he stressed the importance of effective night patrolling. He also called for faster responses to Dial 112 emergency calls.
