Hyderabad: State Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha said welfare and social justice remained the guiding principles of the government. He made the remarks during Telangana Formation Day celebrations in Sangareddy district.
The Minister attended the official programme at the Police Parade Ground as the chief guest. He unfurled the national flag and received a guard of honour from police personnel.
Addressing the gathering, Rajanarasimha outlined the government’s welfare schemes and development initiatives. He said Telangana was progressing steadily across sectors.
According to the Minister, the state had emerged as a model in several fields. He also called upon citizens to participate actively in Telangana’s development.
The Minister paid tribute to martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Telangana statehood. He felicitated their family members and remembered their contribution to the movement.
Welfare and social justice remain government’s focus
Rajanarasimha said the government was implementing programmes aimed at inclusive growth. He added that welfare benefits were reaching various sections of society.
Furthermore, he said the administration was creating opportunities for social and economic advancement. Development and welfare, he added, were moving forward together.
Students presented cultural programmes highlighting patriotic themes and Telangana’s heritage. The performances received appreciation from the audience.
The Minister later presented certificates to students who participated in the cultural events. He also visited exhibition stalls set up by different government departments.
Officials showcased public services and development initiatives through the stalls. Rajanarasimha reviewed the activities and interacted with departmental representatives.
The Minister distributed laptops to four visually impaired students. In addition, he handed over bank linkage cheques worth Rs 69.19 crore to 768 self-help groups.
He also distributed identity cards to transgender beneficiaries. Later, he honoured headmasters who rendered distinguished services during PM SHRI summer camps.
Earlier, Rajanarasimha, District Collector Prateek Jain and SP Paritosh Pankaj paid floral tributes at the Telangana Martyrs Memorial near the IB premises.
TGIIC Chairperson Nirmala Jaggareddy, Additional Collectors Sangeetha and Pandu, Municipal Chairperson Vanitha Santosh, public representatives, officials, students and residents attended the celebrations.
