Revanth orders revenue mobilisation to meet Telangana budget targets

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday directed officials to strengthen revenue mobilisation to achieve the targets set in the State Budget. He instructed departments to prevent revenue leakages and establish a dedicated monitoring cell to track collections.

Reviewing the state’s revenue mobilisation at a high-level meeting held at the MCR HRD Institute, the Chief Minister said the government must continuously monitor revenue generation and improve financial management.

Revenue mobilisation to focus on leakages

Revanth Reddy directed officials to pay special attention to revenue generation by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and the Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC).

He also instructed departments to eliminate leakages in commercial taxes, excise, mining and other revenue streams. In addition, he called for the creation of a dedicated monitoring cell to strengthen revenue collection. He warned officials against any negligence in improving revenue and mobilising financial resources.

Revenue mobilisation linked to budget planning

The Chief Minister said every department should enhance its operational capacity to achieve expected outcomes. Meanwhile, he directed departments to prepare realistic budgets based on pending projects and future works.

He said departments should give top priority to land acquisition for infrastructure projects. Further, he stressed that the State Budget must reflect realistic estimates instead of assumptions.

Revanth Reddy assured officials that the government would provide all necessary support to help departments achieve their financial and development objectives.

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and Jupally Krishna Rao, Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, Adviser K. Ramakrishna Rao and senior officials attended the meeting.
