Hyderabad: The Medical and Health Services Recruitment Board (MHSRB) completed the Assistant Professor recruitment process for 433 posts across 30 speciality and super speciality departments in government medical colleges under the Directorate of Medical Education (DME).
The board released the selection list of successful candidates on Wednesday.
The recruitment drive forms part of the state’s efforts to address faculty shortages and strengthen medical education in Telangana.
Assistant Professor recruitment fills faculty vacancies
MHSRB had earlier issued a notification to fill 607 Assistant Professor posts across 34 departments in government medical colleges.
The recruitment process for 174 posts in Anaesthesiology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics and Orthopaedics had already been completed.
Health, Medical and Family Welfare Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha recently handed over appointment orders to candidates selected for those positions.
With the latest results, the Assistant Professor recruitment process for the remaining 433 posts has now concluded.
In addition, MHSRB released the selection list for four Speech Pathologist posts.
Assistant Professor recruitment to strengthen healthcare system
Damodar Rajanarasimha congratulated all selected Assistant Professors and Speech Pathologists.
He said appointment orders would be issued shortly.
The minister reiterated that providing quality healthcare services remained a top priority for the state government.
According to him, the government has focused on strengthening human resources in government medical colleges, teaching hospitals and public health institutions.
He noted that nearly 15,000 posts had been filled in the Health Department during the past two and a half years.
These appointments included MBBS doctors, specialist doctors, nursing officers, laboratory technicians, paramedical personnel and other healthcare staff.
The minister expressed confidence that the Assistant Professor recruitment drive would improve healthcare delivery in government hospitals.
He also said the appointments would enhance the quality of medical education and expand access to healthcare services across Telangana.
