Ponnam Prabhakar inaugurates Congress office, reviews Husnabad development

Hyderabad: Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar inaugurated the Congress Party office in Koheda mandal. He urged party leaders and workers to strengthen the organisation. He also reviewed Husnabad development works, inspected the ongoing voter revision exercise and highlighted the State government’s welfare and infrastructure initiatives.

The minister directed officials to ensure that every eligible voter is included in the electoral rolls. He also asked Congress leaders, sarpanches and representatives of NSUI, Youth Congress and Mahila Congress to remain available at the party office to address public grievances.

Meanwhile, Ponnam Prabhakar marked Eruvaka Pournami by ploughing a field and sowing seeds. He formally launched agricultural activities for the Kharif season in Koheda mandal.

Further, the minister said construction of the Young India Integrated School is progressing in the mandal. The Rs 200 crore project is advancing as planned. In addition, he announced the sanction of roads connecting Baswapur, Tangallapalli and Ramachandrapuram.

Ponnam Prabhakar said he was ready for a public discussion comparing the development achieved during the last 30 months with the work carried out over the previous 10 years.

Husnabad development focuses on welfare and infrastructure

The minister said the government is implementing several welfare and infrastructure programmes across the constituency. According to him, the first phase of the Indiramma housing scheme covered 3,500 houses. The government has now started the second phase for eligible beneficiaries.

Meanwhile, he said the government had issued ration cards to eligible families and started supplying fine rice through the Public Distribution System. He also highlighted the implementation of 200 units of free electricity for eligible households.

Ponnam Prabhakar said Koheda mandal contributed thousands of metric tonnes of paddy during the procurement season. He appealed to farmers to cooperate with canal development works. He said the projects would improve irrigation and make the region more fertile.

In addition, the minister highlighted the waiver of crop loans up to Rs 2 lakh, amounting to Rs 21,000 crore. He also referred to the bonus for fine paddy. Further, the government distributed steel kits containing 13 household items to women’s self-help groups and supplied steel glasses to 540 hotels.

The minister said the government introduced a fertiliser app to improve fertiliser distribution. Meanwhile, he asked local representatives to coordinate with officials if farmers face shortages of seeds or fertilisers. He noted that the State distributes fertilisers based on allocations received from the Centre and advised farmers to use them according to official recommendations.
