Hyderabad: The CMC Commissioner directed departments to prioritise feasible works after reviewing CMC ward civic issues in Vivekananda Nagar and Venkateshwara Nagar.
The Commissioner visited both wards under the One Ward Every Day Programme. MLA Arekapudi Gandhi, the Zonal Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner and officials concerned also participated.
During the visits, the officials interacted directly with residents to identify neighbourhood requirements. Residents raised concerns involving roads, drainage and drinking water supply.
Moreover, they sought improvements in streetlights, sanitation and mosquito control. They also raised requirements concerning parks, encroachment removal and pedestrian infrastructure.
CMC ward civic issues include roads and waterlogging
Residents specifically sought the completion of pending road works and repairs to potholes. In addition, they highlighted drainage leakages and waterlogging in their neighbourhoods. Requests for additional streetlights also came up during the interactions. Residents further sought regular fogging to control mosquitoes.
Meanwhile, waste clearance and removal of construction and demolition debris figured among the sanitation concerns. Residents also sought improvements to footpaths and pedestrian facilities.
Road widening was another requirement placed before officials during the visits. The CMC ward civic issues raised during the programme covered infrastructure, sanitation, mobility and basic public services in both wards.
CMC ward civic issues to get priority review
The Commissioner directed the departments concerned to examine each issue at the ground level. Furthermore, officials received instructions to coordinate with the respective agencies wherever necessary.
The Commissioner asked departments to take up feasible works on priority. Officials also had to ensure timely follow-up on the concerns raised by residents.
The One Ward Every Day Programme brought civic officials and residents together to review local requirements directly. Consequently, departments received specific instructions to examine the problems and coordinate action on possible solutions.
Officials covered Vivekananda Nagar Ward and Venkateshwara Nagar Ward during the programme. The review focused on improving roads, drainage, sanitation, lighting, public spaces and pedestrian infrastructure.
