Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a statewide agitation on Thursday over pending fee reimbursement dues. The party demanded that the Congress government immediately clear the arrears. It alleged that nearly 25 lakh students were facing uncertainty.
Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao unveiled the “Feesula Bakayi – BJP Ladai” campaign poster at Nizam College in Basheerbagh. He said the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Mahila Morcha, MLAs, MPs and party workers would take the campaign across Telangana. He asserted that the agitation would continue until the government cleared all pending dues.
Rao accused the Revanth Reddy government of ignoring students despite High Court observations. He also demanded that the government fulfil its election promises on jobs, unemployment allowance and recruitment.
Fee reimbursement dues become focus of BJP agitation
BJP Legislature Party Floor Leader Aleti Maheshwar Reddy, State General Secretary N. Gautam Rao, State Vice President Jayashree and BJYM State President Ganesh Kunde attended the programme. Several other party leaders also participated.
Rao alleged that the Congress, Left parties and certain foreign-backed groups were attempting to create unrest. He claimed they wanted to destabilise the Narendra Modi-led NDA government. He also accused what he described as ultra-left and soft-left forces of regrouping under new names, including the “Cockroach Janata Party”. According to him, leaders of SFI, AISF and ASA were part of the effort. He alleged that the objective was to create violence similar to developments in Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh.
Later, while addressing reporters at the BJP state office, Rao claimed that anti-national elements were trying to mobilise youth with foreign support. Defending the Centre’s handling of the NEET paper leak, he said the NDA government had enacted the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024. He added that the Centre had strengthened the National Testing Agency. Rao also highlighted the government’s employment record. He cautioned people against supporting organisations that he alleged were working against national interests.
