Hyderabad: Excise Police arrested one person and seized more than one kilogram of ganja during a raid on an alleged drug trafficking network in Ibrahimpatnam, Ranga Reddy district. The Ibrahimpatnam ganja seizure was carried out following a tip-off about the illegal transportation of cannabis.
The raid was conducted on Thursday night near Seetharam Pet in Ibrahimpatnam Municipality under the supervision of Excise Sub-Inspector Basheer. Acting on specific information, the Excise team intercepted the suspects and recovered over one kilogram of ganja from their possession.
Ibrahimpatnam ganja seizure follows intelligence input
According to preliminary information, one member of the alleged ganja trafficking group was taken into custody, while two other suspects escaped from the spot. Excise officials launched efforts to trace the absconding accused.
The seized ganja was shifted to the Ibrahimpatnam Excise Police Station for further legal action. Officials have initiated an investigation to identify the remaining suspects and ascertain the source and destination of the contraband.
