Hyderabad: Medchal Police arrested two men from Maharashtra and seized 5.849 kg of ganja during a raid near Dhruva College Road at ORR Exit No. 6 in Medchal. Police also recovered a mobile phone allegedly used for communication.
The accused were identified as Sachin Santosh Jadav alias Nitin alias Akash, 24, and Rajesh Madhav Chaudhari, 22. Both are labourers from Jalna district in Maharashtra.
Police acted on credible information and intercepted the suspects on June 25. During the search, officers recovered the ganja concealed in a black bag.
Medchal ganja seizure under investigation
According to investigators, the accused allegedly procured the contraband from Odisha and transported it to Medchal for illegal sale.
Medchal Police registered a case and arrested both the accused. They later produced them before the court.
Furthermore, police said the investigation was continuing to trace the source of the contraband and identify others involved in the narcotics network.
