Zaheerabad Industrial Smart City project to boost Telangana manufacturing

Hyderabad: Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy said the Zaheerabad Industrial Smart City project would drive next-generation industrial growth and strengthen manufacturing activity in Telangana.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the Zaheerabad Industrial Smart City project on May 10, 2026. The project is part of the Hyderabad–Nagpur Industrial Corridor in Telangana.

The industrial smart city will come up across 3,245 acres with an estimated project cost of ₹2,360.54 crore. Officials designed the project as an integrated industrial hub with modern infrastructure and sector-focused development.

According to the Centre, the project has the potential to attract investments exceeding ₹10,000 crore. In addition, officials expect the project to generate nearly 1.74 lakh jobs by 2029.

Zaheerabad Industrial Smart City targets large investments

The project will focus on sectors including logistics, auto components, non-metallic minerals, electrical and electronics, machinery, metals and food processing.

Officials said the industrial city would include smart infrastructure supported by advanced technology integration. Moreover, planners proposed sustainable and eco-friendly development practices for the project.

The smart city will also provide plug-and-play industrial facilities for companies. Besides industrial infrastructure, the project will include residential and commercial spaces along with schools and training institutes.

Kishan Reddy said the strategic location along the Hyderabad–Nagpur Industrial Corridor would help the project emerge as a major manufacturing and logistics hub. He added that the Centre was continuing to expand industrial corridor projects to strengthen India’s position as a global manufacturing destination.
