Jupally Krishna Rao inaugurates tourism week celebrations in Zaheerabad

Hyderabad: Telangana Minister Jupally Krishna Rao inaugurated tourism week celebrations at the State Institute of Hospitality Management in Zaheerabad under the ‘Prajapalana – Pragati Pranalika’ initiative. During the programme, he launched newly introduced bakery and confectionery courses with support from the SC Corporation.

The minister also formally opened admissions for BBA and MBA courses for the new academic year at NITHM. In addition, he unveiled the Tourism Department’s ‘Tourist Guide’ poster.

Jupally Krishna Rao said the government reopened the SIHM institution after it remained unused for several years. He further announced that the government would sanction Rs 5 crore to strengthen the institute at a corporate level.

Tourism week celebrations held at SIHM Zaheerabad

According to the minister, the institution was established to improve vocational skills among rural youth and help them secure self-employment opportunities. He said the government aimed to support SC, ST and BC students from rural backgrounds through skill-based education.

To reduce the financial burden on poor students, the government would work towards providing stipends for those studying at SIHM. Meanwhile, the minister said the tourism and hospitality sectors offered wide employment opportunities in the private sector.

He urged students to improve language proficiency along with professional skills. He also advised them to learn foreign languages to improve employment prospects. Further, he asked parents to encourage children to pursue career-oriented courses.
