Jupally calls influencers key to Telangana tourism push

Hyderabad: Tourism, Culture and Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao said the Telangana government planned to strengthen Telangana tourism promotion by leveraging digital creators and social media platforms.

Addressing the “Telangana Tourism Creators Meet” at Tourism Plaza in Begumpet on Thursday, the minister urged influencers to promote the state’s heritage, scenic destinations, art forms and hospitality globally.

The event was organised as part of Tourism Week celebrations under the government’s “Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika” 99-day action plan.

Jupally Krishna Rao described tourism as a major driver of economic growth, employment generation and cultural promotion.

He said Telangana tourism promotion could create jobs for local youth and contribute significantly to state revenue. According to the minister, tourism revenue could also strengthen healthcare, education and tourism infrastructure.

Telangana tourism promotion aimed at boosting local travel

The minister encouraged people within Telangana to explore tourist destinations across the state. He said travelling was not always dependent on high spending.

According to him, reducing unnecessary expenses and spending time at tourist locations could help people overcome stress and improve mental well-being.

Jupally Krishna Rao said the government was taking measures to attract domestic, international and intra-state tourists through improved infrastructure and visitor amenities.

He added that steps were being taken to maintain cleanliness and provide basic facilities at tourist destinations. Modern tent accommodation facilities were also being introduced as part of Telangana tourism promotion efforts.

Telangana tourism promotion includes digital outreach

The minister said unused Haritha hotels and tourism lands would be redeveloped for better utilisation and higher tourism revenue.

During the programme, Jupally Krishna Rao launched the new Meta account and official Instagram handle of the Telangana Tourism Department.

A promotional video titled “Timeless Telangana” was also screened at the event. The video showcased Telangana’s historical monuments, heritage structures, handicrafts, handlooms and Kalamkari art.
