Kishan Reddy reviews Telangana railway projects with Vaishnaw

Hyderabad: Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy met Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi on Thursday to review the progress of major Telangana railway projects.

The meeting held at Rail Bhavan focused on railway electrification, new rail lines, station redevelopment and expansion of passenger amenities across Telangana.

The ministers also reviewed plans for modernization of 42 major railway stations in the state as part of the ongoing Telangana railway projects.

Speaking to reporters later, Kishan Reddy said he raised concerns regarding Hyderabad’s Multi-Modal Transport System services.

He urged the Railways to regularize MMTS train timings and improve commuter facilities in Hyderabad.

Kishan Reddy said Ashwini Vaishnaw responded positively to the concerns raised during the meeting.

According to the Union Minister, the Railway Minister assured that a special review meeting with officials would be conducted to strengthen the MMTS network in Hyderabad.

The leaders also discussed proposed high-speed rail corridors and several ongoing Telangana railway projects linked to infrastructure expansion.

Kishan Reddy stated that the Centre remained committed to accelerating railway infrastructure growth in Telangana under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The review also covered passenger convenience and redevelopment initiatives at important railway stations across the state.

Officials discussed measures aimed at improving railway connectivity, electrification and modern transport infrastructure in Telangana.
