Kishan Reddy inspects Hi-Tech City Railway Station redevelopment works

Hyderabad: Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy inspected the ongoing redevelopment of Hi-Tech City Railway Station on Friday, highlighting key works under Phase-I of the project.

Station gets phased upgrade with new amenities

Reddy, accompanied by Chevella MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy and SCR General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, reviewed the construction of the new station building, a 12-metre foot overbridge, upgraded platforms, and improved safety systems.

Phase-I has received ₹25.93 crore for infrastructure improvements. Phase-II will add another ₹10 crore for renovating the old station building. Currently, the station serves 5,400 passengers daily and supports 62 suburban trains.

Telangana rail projects gain momentum under Centre

Reddy said the Modi government had fast-tracked railway upgrades across Telangana. He cited redevelopment efforts at 40 stations, including the recently inaugurated Cherlapalli Terminal. Secunderabad station is being modernised with a ₹720 crore investment, while Hyderabad station is undergoing a ₹350 crore revamp. Plans for Kacheguda station are awaiting final approval.

He added that work at Hafeezpet, Hi-Tech City, and Malakpet stations—key parts of Hyderabad’s urban rail cluster—would finish by next year. During Dussehra and Diwali, 16 Mail/Express trains had special halts at Hi-Tech City to ease congestion for western Hyderabad commuters.

Chevella MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy praised the transformation of four stations in his constituency. He credited the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme for delivering modern facilities and enhancing passenger experience. The scheme, he noted, focuses on long-term utility and smart infrastructure.
