Hyderabad Police launches Soceye AI surveillance platform

Hyderabad: Hyderabad City Police launched “SOCEYE – Social Media Observation and Cyber Intelligence”, an AI-powered platform designed to monitor harmful social media content, track cyber troublemakers and analyse online trends that could disturb public order.

The platform marked a major technology-driven move to strengthen cyber surveillance and preventive policing through Artificial Intelligence. Police said the system automated several tasks that earlier required constant manual monitoring across multiple social media platforms.

Under the new system, SOCEYE carried out real-time surveillance, content analysis and investigation support through a unified dashboard. The platform integrated alerts from Dial-100, intelligence inputs and city event feeds to provide instant situational awareness.

During the pilot phase, Soceye social media monitoring identified 85 hateful and communally sensitive posts linked to the Puranapul X Road incident. It also detected 126 objectionable posts connected to the Gudimalkapur issue. Police initiated takedown measures and identified suspected troublemakers to maintain peace and public order.

Soceye social media monitoring tracks harmful content

Police said the platform continuously monitored cyber troublemakers and communal social media handles. It also prioritised issues linked to narcotics and women’s safety.

The AI system automatically detected content associated with CSAM, cyberbullying and stalking. It then classified posts into High, Medium and Low-risk categories. In addition, the platform analysed sharing networks to identify accounts amplifying sensitive content. Officials said the feature sharply reduced the need for manual monitoring.

SOCEYE also introduced an automated grievance tracking system. Complaints received through Hyderabad City Police social media handles were categorised automatically and assigned tracking IDs. The system monitored complaints from receipt to disposal while identifying recurring issues and sensitive locations.

Soceye social media monitoring supports investigations

Police said the platform created keyword-based monitoring systems during protests, religious processions and public gatherings. It tracked related online activity in real time to identify possible law and order threats at an early stage.

The platform also included integrated SOCMINT and OSINT tools to support cybercrime investigations and digital evidence analysis.

Officials said SOCEYE featured a high-speed global search engine capable of scanning public social media profiles instantly. The tool aggregated posts connected to specific keywords, allowing police to quickly assess emerging online narratives and developments.
