Revanth Reddy seeks early approval for Hyderabad Metro Phase 2

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy urged the Centre to grant early approvals for Hyderabad Metro Phase 2 during a meeting with Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar in New Delhi.

The Chief Minister said the proposed 76.4-km metro expansion is crucial for the rapidly growing city.

He explained that the project would improve urban mobility, reduce traffic congestion and support sustainable development.

Revanth Reddy requested the Union Minister to expedite clearances required for the project.

Hyderabad Metro Phase 2 DPR submitted with revisions

The Chief Minister informed Khattar that the state government had already revised the Detailed Project Report (DPR) based on suggestions from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

He said the government subsequently submitted the updated DPR for consideration.

Further, Revanth Reddy highlighted the importance of the project for Hyderabad’s future transport needs.

Therefore, he sought support in securing approvals from all concerned central departments.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister emphasised that the metro expansion would strengthen public transport infrastructure across the city.

He said the project would help meet growing commuter demand in several developing corridors.

Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao and other senior officials also attended the meeting with the Union Minister.
