Malkajgiri Police solve murder case, seize firearm and ammunition

Hyderabad: Malkajgiri Police solved a murder case within hours of its reporting and arrested the prime accused, recovering a country-made pistol, live ammunition, knives and other material linked to the crime.

Police apprehended Dhamara Arun Kumar, 48, near Moula-Ali Railway Station on June 11 in connection with a case registered under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and provisions of the Arms Act.

Police also named Harinder Singh alias Harbhajan Singh as an absconding accused and Mir Muzammil Ali Khan, 23, as another accused in the case.

Malkajgiri murder case linked to marital dispute

The case came to light after Gaddam Santhosh Yadav lodged a complaint with Malkajgiri Police.

During the investigation, police found that Arun Kumar had first married the elder sister of the deceased, Nisharani, and later married Nisharani.

Investigators alleged that the accused frequently suspected his wife’s fidelity and subjected her to physical and mental harassment. Police said she had often taken shelter with relatives in Narsapur in Medak district.

Officials also found that the accused had previously figured in a firearm possession case registered at Amberpet Police Station.

According to investigators, marital disputes intensified in recent days. Police alleged that Arun Kumar shot Nisharani at their residence in Maruthi Nagar, Malkajgiri, at around 4.30 am on June 10.

The woman died as a result of the injuries, police said.

Malkajgiri murder case leads to seizure of weapons

Acting on technical evidence and other clues, police tracked down and arrested the accused.

The seized property included a country-made pistol, a magazine containing three live rounds, three knives, a surgical blade, a Maruti Baleno car and a Bajaj Chetak scooter.

Investigators also seized clothing and other material believed to be connected with the offence.

Police said the investigation remained in progress.

The case was detected under the leadership of Malkajgiri Police Commissioner B. Sumathi and senior officers of the commissionerate.

The Police Commissioner appreciated the investigation team for its swift action and prompt detection of the case.

Malkajgiri murder case prompts public advisory

Following the case, Malkajgiri Police urged citizens to promptly report domestic violence, criminal intimidation, illegal firearm possession and threats to life.

Police cautioned that unresolved family disputes could escalate into serious crimes and result in loss of life.

Officials also warned that unlawful possession, transport or use of firearms and deadly weapons would attract strict legal action.
