Sajjanar orders detailed probe into two sisters’ deaths

Hyderabad: City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar on Thursday ordered a comprehensive investigation into the deaths of two sisters in Hyderabad and directed officials to determine the exact cause through forensic and medical examinations.

The Commissioner instructed investigators to preserve samples of the deceased girls’ internal organs and obtain expert medical opinions. He said officials should complete a thorough probe before reaching any conclusions.

According to police, Vaijinath and Indumathi, natives of Bidar who reside in Vittalwadi, consumed mangoes brought home by a relative on Sunday evening along with their four daughters.

Soon afterwards, family members reportedly developed vomiting and diarrhoea. Doctors admitted them to a private hospital in Kavadiguda for treatment.

Police said the couple’s third daughter, Bhuvaneshwari, 17, died while undergoing treatment on Monday.

The youngest daughter, Sandhya, succumbed on Tuesday.

Two other daughters remain stable. Another girl continues to receive treatment, according to officials.

Two sisters deaths under forensic examination

Narayanaguda police registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.

Investigators said they were awaiting the post-mortem report. They added that forensic and medical examinations would establish the exact cause of death.

Police officials said the investigation would continue until they received all scientific and medical findings related to the case.
