Charminar Police arrest man in bike theft cases

Hyderabad: The Charminar bike theft case took a major turn after the Crime Team of Charminar Police Station arrested a man allegedly involved in multiple two-wheeler thefts and recovered three stolen Honda Activa scooters during a special operation in the city.

Police identified the accused as Mohammed Nayeem Khan alias Mohammed Salman alias Salman, 26, a Rapido driver residing at Sheri Galli in King Kothi, Hyderabad.

Officials said the Charminar bike theft case surfaced after police received credible information about repeated vehicle thefts in several localities under city limits.

Subsequently, the crime team launched surveillance operations and examined CCTV footage collected from different locations. Meanwhile, investigators also gathered inputs through informers and closely tracked the accused’s movements and Instagram activity.

Charminar bike theft case leads to scooter recovery

Police intercepted the accused near Madina X Road on April 28, 2026, and immediately took him into custody for questioning.

During interrogation, the accused admitted that he had stolen three two-wheelers from areas falling under Charminar and Narayanaguda police station limits.

The Charminar bike theft case resulted in the recovery of three Honda Activa scooters in green, brown and black colours.

Investigators seized all the vehicles during the operation and shifted them for further legal procedures.

Charminar Zone ACP P. Chandrashekhar supervised the operation. Furthermore, Charminar Inspector T. Rambabu, Detective Inspector K. Narsing Rathod, Detective Sub-Inspector G. Satish Reddy and members of the crime team participated in the investigation.

Police continued further investigation to identify whether the accused was linked to additional vehicle theft cases in Hyderabad.
