Hyderabad: More than 30 passengers were injured after an RTC bus overturns incident on National Highway-44 near Rangapur in Wanaparthy district on Monday morning. State Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar ordered a comprehensive inquiry into the accident and directed officials to ensure the best possible treatment for the injured.
The TGSRTC Express bus from the Wanaparthy depot was travelling from Kurnool to Wanaparthy when it overturned. Officials said around 50 passengers were on board at the time of the mishap.
The minister spoke with the District Collector, Superintendent of Police and senior RTC officials to review the situation. He sought details about the cause of the accident and instructed authorities to submit a detailed report.

Motorists and local residents rushed to the accident site and helped rescue the passengers. The injured were shifted to the Pebberu Government Hospital for treatment.
Doctors said most passengers suffered minor injuries and received first aid. Officials continued to monitor their condition.
Meanwhile, Ponnam Prabhakar appreciated the prompt response of RTC employees, police personnel and ambulance teams involved in the rescue operation. He instructed officials to provide regular health updates on the injured passengers and wished them a speedy recovery.
The minister also directed RTC authorities to strengthen safety measures to prevent similar accidents in the future.
Police registered a case and launched an investigation into the accident. The overturned bus briefly disrupted traffic on NH-44 before authorities cleared the vehicle and restored normal traffic movement.
