Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh brings back 55 workers who fell into the hands of cybercrime gangs in Myanmar. Moreover, they reached India safely after the Centre arranged special flights through Thailand. Officials said cyber gangs trapped them with false job offers and forced them into illegal online work.
The Indian Government flew home 370 citizens in total, and 55 of them belonged to Andhra Pradesh. As a result, the state moved quickly to support their return and address their immediate needs. Officers noted that the victims lost phones, money and basic items during their ordeal.

Authorities identified the rescued workers as residents of Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam. At Delhi airport, Central officials handed them to AP Bhavan staff, who then took charge of their care. Furthermore, the team provided temporary shelter and food soon after their arrival. Officers said the workers struggled in Myanmar because gangs seized their belongings and restricted movement.
The state extended quick financial help. In addition, it gave each person ₹1,000 to cover urgent travel expenses. Officials coordinated with railway teams and secured emergency quota tickets so they could return home without delay. Moreover, the rescued workers prepared to leave Delhi by train the same day. They thanked the Andhra Pradesh Government for guiding them through the rescue and arranging all facilities.

Earlier, the state helped 24 people return from similar situations. With this latest group, the total rose to 79. Furthermore, officials said they would keep working with Central agencies to bring back any remaining citizens still trapped in Myanmar. They added that teams continued to track new cases and respond as soon as alerts reached the state.
