Hyderabad: TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud accused the BJP of undermining democratic institutions and asserted that the Congress was on course to retain power in Telangana for a second consecutive term.
He made the remarks while addressing a Satyagraha Diksha at Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday.
The Rajiv Gandhi Panchayat Raj Sangathan organised the protest against the rejection of the Rajya Sabha nomination of Telangana Congress in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan.
The TPCC president alleged that the decision violated democratic norms and constitutional principles.

Meanwhile, he claimed that authorities rejected Meenakshi Natarajan’s nomination despite the absence of any case against her.
He alleged that the decision ultimately benefited a BJP candidate in Madhya Pradesh.
Further, the Congress leader referred to the Rajya Sabha elections in Jharkhand.
He claimed an Independent candidate received another opportunity to submit documents despite procedural deficiencies.
In contrast, he alleged that Congress did not receive similar consideration in Meenakshi Natarajan’s case.
Additionally, he accused the BJP of pursuing a divisive political agenda.
He alleged that BJP leaders were attempting to impose their ideology and disregard constitutional values.
The TPCC president also claimed that BJP leaders were trying to expand their political presence in Telangana.
He alleged that they were receiving support from Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan.
He reiterated that the Congress would continue its efforts to safeguard democratic institutions and constitutional principles.
