Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao praised the Rahmath Pasha Bondi rescue and honoured the Hyderabad native for helping save about 20 lives during a violent incident in Australia’s Bondi area.
KTR said the Australian government’s decision to grant permanent residency to Rahmath Pasha in recognition of his actions was a matter of pride for Indians, particularly the Telugu community. He also noted that Australian authorities had recommended Pasha for a Bravery Award.
Rahmath Pasha Bondi rescue wins recognition
According to KTR, Pasha was dropping off a passenger near Bondi Beach when he heard loud noises. He initially believed they were fireworks. However, after realising an attacker was involved, he got out of his vehicle and helped more than 20 injured people reach safety while others fled the scene.
KTR also noted that the ride-sharing company employing Pasha had recognised his service.
Rahmath Pasha Bondi rescue inspires youth
Rahmath Pasha met KTR at the latter’s residence on Tuesday. During the meeting, KTR said Pasha’s selfless actions had earned global recognition for the Telugu community.
Furthermore, he said Pasha’s courage and humanitarian spirit should inspire young people to contribute to society. He described the Hyderabad man’s actions as an outstanding example of humanity and bravery.
BRS NRI Global Coordinator Mahesh Bigala, former MLA Methuku Anand and other party leaders also honoured Pasha during the programme.
