Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao alleged that the Congress government was eroding Telangana development gains achieved during the previous BRS administration and accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of failing to deliver on key promises.
Addressing a party workers’ meeting in the Palair constituency of Khammam district on Wednesday, Rama Rao claimed that the State’s economy was weakening while corruption and commission-based activities were increasing under the current administration.
He alleged that the Congress government had failed to protect the Telangana development gains achieved over the past decade and accused it of neglecting development priorities.
Telangana development gains central to KTR’s criticism
Rama Rao launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. He alleged that irregularities in land administration were affecting property owners across the State.
The BRS leader further claimed that large tracts of land had been brought under restrictions, creating difficulties for landowners. He also questioned the government’s handling of land-related issues and demanded greater transparency.
In addition, Rama Rao referred to Enforcement Directorate raids conducted at properties linked to Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. He questioned why authorities and political parties had not publicly discussed the findings of those investigations.
Telangana development gains linked to welfare promises
Rama Rao also criticised the Congress government over welfare commitments made before the elections. He questioned the status of promises related to Indiramma housing, financial assistance for the poor and other social welfare measures.
Furthermore, he alleged that the government had not fulfilled assurances related to Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, unemployment assistance and pensions.
The BRS leader defended the borrowing undertaken during the previous BRS government. He said the administration used those funds for development projects and welfare programmes.
He challenged the Congress government to publish a white paper detailing expenditure related to public debt. According to Rama Rao, such disclosure would help people assess whether the government had protected the Telangana development gains achieved during the previous decade.
