KTR targets Ponguleti, alleges corruption and land irregularities

Hyderabad: BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao launched a sharp attack on Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, alleging corruption, land irregularities and misuse of power at a party workers’ meeting in the Palair Assembly constituency.

Former minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar, former MLA Kandala Upender Reddy, Rajya Sabha MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra, MLCs Tata Madhu and Takkellapalli Ravinder Rao, and several senior BRS leaders attended the meeting.

Rama Rao alleged that state revenues were declining. At the same time, he claimed some ministers were expanding their financial interests through commission-based activities. He also questioned the handling of previous Enforcement Directorate investigations. Furthermore, he alleged a nexus between political parties that prevented further action.

KTR Ponguleti allegations focus on land issues

The BRS leader accused Ponguleti of misusing the revenue administration. He alleged that authorities had placed large tracts of land under dispute. According to him, this created opportunities for settlements and land-related transactions.

Rama Rao further claimed that property restrictions had created difficulties for landowners. He alleged that influential individuals were exploiting the situation for personal gain.

Referring to incidents in Vattinagulapally, he accused people linked to the minister of involvement in land disputes. He also questioned how the government handled complaints related to those incidents. Ponguleti has not publicly responded to the allegations.

KTR Ponguleti allegations extend to housing promises

Rama Rao also questioned the Congress government’s housing promises. He recalled commitments to build houses for economically weaker sections. He asked whether the government had achieved its targets halfway through its term.

The BRS leader sought details on houses allotted to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes and minorities in Khammam district. In addition, he criticised the government’s housing policies. He alleged that promised financial assistance had not reached beneficiaries.

KTR Ponguleti allegations include mining and revenue criticism

Rama Rao accused the government of encouraging illegal mining activities. He also alleged irregularities in sand-related operations in parts of the state.

Moreover, he criticised reports of a proposed land tax. He claimed such a measure would place an additional burden on farmers.

The BRS leader further alleged that commercial interests were influencing decisions on public resources and contracts. He said the party would continue raising these issues. He also claimed that public dissatisfaction with the government was increasing.
