Hyderabad: Hyderabad Traffic Police announced Bonalu traffic diversions for Lal Darwaza, Darbar Maisamma and Karwan festivities on August 9 and 10.
The restrictions will cover several roads in the Old City and Karwan. Meanwhile, police advised motorists to use alternate routes and follow traffic instructions.
For the Sri Simhavahini Mahankali Lal Darwaza Bonalu procession, restrictions will begin at 6 am on August 9. They will continue until the procession ends. On August 10, diversions will start at 9 am and remain in force until the procession concludes.
Bonalu traffic diversions at Lal Darwaza
Vehicles from Engine Bowli and Falaknuma towards Aliabad will face restrictions at New Shamsherganj ‘T’ Junction. Police will divert them towards Goshala, Tadban, Goshala Misrigunj or Khilwat.
Traffic from MBNR X Roads towards Aliabad will divert at Engine Bowli. The alternate routes will lead towards Jahanuma, Goshala, Tadban or Khilwat.
Vehicles from Nagul Chinta and Sudha Talkies towards Lal Darwaza will divert at Nehru Mode. Similarly, traffic from Gowlipura towards Lal Darwaza Mode will divert at Sudha Talkies towards Haribowli and Mirchowk.
Traffic from Panch Mohalla towards Nagul Chinta will move through Haribowli, Volga Hotel and Misrigunj. Further, vehicles from Rajannabowli towards Lal Darwaza Temple will divert at the Venkateswara Swamy Temple lane towards Ramaswamy Gunj.
Vehicles from Kandikal Gate towards Lal Darwaza Temple will divert at the OP Chatrinaka Police Station ‘Y’ Junction towards Gowlipura. Meanwhile, traffic from Balaganj will divert near Lakshmidevi Pan Shop towards Nehru Statue and Nagul Chinta Junction.
Vehicles from Uppuguda and Chatrinaka through Gowlipura will face restrictions near Mohammed Shukur Mosque. Police will divert them at Balaraj Jewellers towards Moghalpura Police Station.
Heavy vehicles from Old Chandrayangutta towards Chatrinaka will not be allowed. Instead, they will move towards Santoshnagar and Chandrayangutta.
Vehicles from Fateh Darwaza towards Himmatpura X Roads will divert at Volga Hotel ‘T’ Junction towards Khilwat Road. Likewise, traffic from Gowlipura towards Sudha Theatre will move through Moghalpura and Etebar Chowk towards Mirchowk.
Vehicles from Chatrinaka OP towards Gowlipura will divert at Gandhi Statue. In addition, traffic from Mir Ka Daira and Moghalpura towards Haribowli will divert towards the Moghalpura Water Tank area.
Vehicles from Asra Hospital towards Charminar Main Road will divert towards Bibibazar. Traffic from Bhavaninagar towards Charminar will divert at Bibibazar X Roads towards Alija Kotla and Mir Alam Mandi Road.
Lal Darwaza traffic routes and diversions
Vehicles from Alija Kotla and Moghalpura towards Charminar will divert at Chowk Maidan Khan. Meanwhile, traffic from Yakutpura towards Gulzar House will divert at Etebar Chowk towards Mir Alam Mandi.
Vehicles from Purani Haveli towards Tippu Khana Mosque will divert at Lakkadkot ‘X’ Roads. They will move towards APAT Junctions or Darul Shifa.
Traffic from Chaderghat, Noor Khan Bazaar, SJ Rotary and Shivaji Bridge towards Salar Jung Museum Road will divert at SJ Rotary. Further, vehicles from Khilwat Road towards Lad Bazaar will divert at Motigalli ‘T’ Junction.
Vehicles from Bandike Adda and Ghansi Bazaar towards Gulzar House will divert at Mitte-Ke-Sher. Similarly, traffic from Ghansi Bazaar towards Chakram Adda will move through Chelapura.
Vehicles from Puranapool, Goodwill Hotel and Moosabowli towards Nayapool will divert at Muslimjung Bridge. They will move towards Bhoolakshmi Temple, Begum Bazaar and Chatri.
Traffic from Gowlieguda and Siddiamber Bazaar towards Nayapool will divert at Afzalgunj. Finally, vehicles will move towards Muslimjung Bridge or Shivaji Bridge.
Lal Darwaza parking and bus restrictions
The main road from Medina X Roads to Engine Bowli will remain closed during the procession. The closure will cover Gulzar House, Charminar, Charminar Bus Terminal, Himmatpura, Nagul Chinta and Aliabad.
Devotees from Aliabad can park near Devi Plywood opposite Shalibanda Post Office. Alternatively, they can use the vacant site at Alka Theatre.
Visitors from Haribowli and Gowlipura can use Arya Vysya Mandir, Alka Theatre, VDP School ground or Mitra Sports Club. Meanwhile, devotees from Old PS Chatrinaka can use the Lakshminagar Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple premises or Phoolbagh Chaman ground.
Visitors from Moosabowli and Mirchowk can park at Charminar Bus Terminal. In addition, procession vehicles can use single-line parking near Delhi Gate.
TG and APSRTC buses will not be allowed towards Charminar, Falaknuma or Nayapool. Instead, they will stop at Old CBS, Afzalgunj, Darul Shifa X Roads, Chatrinaka and Engine Bowli before taking alternate routes.
Bonalu traffic diversions cover Karwan procession
For the Darbar Maisamma Bonalu and elephant procession from Sabzi Mandi to Nalla Pochamma Temple in Karwan, restrictions will start at 9 pm on August 8. They will continue until the morning of August 10.
RTC buses and four-wheelers from Puranapool Junction towards 2J Bus Stop will divert at Puranapool Junction. Similarly, vehicles from Puranapool towards Darbar Maisamma Temple will divert near Mesco College towards Ziaguda Road.
Traffic from Tappachabutra towards Darbar Maisamma Temple will divert at Tappachabutra ‘T’ Junction towards Jirra Road. Meanwhile, vehicles from Yadav Bhavan towards the temple will divert at Murghi Chowk and Tallagadda Junction.
Vehicles from Moghal Ka Nala towards Puranapool through Darbar Maisamma Temple will divert near Nehru School towards 2J Bus Stop. In addition, RTC buses and four-wheelers from Moghal Ka Nala towards Puranapool will divert towards 100 Feet Road.
When the elephant procession reaches Hanuman Temple, traffic from Asifnagar towards Tappachabutra will divert at Royal Sea Hotel and Jirra Road.
Karwan parking arrangements
Parking for the Karwan procession will be available at the Government Primary and High School ground. Meanwhile, devotees can also use the Toli Masjid area opposite the government school.
The Jagat Singh private site will provide parking for two-wheelers. Therefore, police asked commuters and devotees to follow diversion signs and instructions during the festivities.
