Hyderabad: A delegation from the BJP Ex-Servicemen Cell met Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla at Lok Bhavan on Saturday and submitted an ex-servicemen memorandum highlighting several welfare concerns of retired armed forces personnel.
The delegation raised issues related to delays in ex-gratia payments and sought the establishment of a Sainik Corporation in Telangana. Members also expressed concern over the alleged improper use of Armed Forces Flag Day funds.
The representatives demanded an ECHS polyclinic in LB Nagar or Kanchanbagh to improve healthcare access for ex-servicemen and their families.
The delegation also requested employment opportunities and fair postings for retired defence personnel in banks and government institutions.
Ex-servicemen memorandum seeks district-level welfare measures
The BJP delegation urged the government to establish district-level war memorials across Telangana to honour martyrs and military personnel. Members also sought the formation of District Ex-Servicemen Committees under the leadership of District Collectors as per existing government orders.
Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla assured the delegation that he would take up the concerns with the government. He also directed officials to examine the memorandum and coordinate with the relevant authorities.
Lieutenant Colonel (Dr.) Sunkara Srinivasa Rao (Retd), Convenor of the Telangana BJP Ex-Servicemen Cell, led the delegation.
Other members included Co-Convenor Subedar Major Rajender Singh (Retd), Subedar Major PSN Swamy (Retd), Subedar Neeraj Dubey (Retd) and Havaldar Dubashi Sagar (Retd).
