Revanth Reddy backs ex-servicemen welfare measures

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy assured stronger support for ex-servicemen welfare during a meeting with Director of Sainik Welfare Brigadier N.R. Babu (Retd) on Wednesday.

The ex-servicemen welfare meeting focused on proposals aimed at strengthening support systems for retired armed forces personnel in Telangana.

During the meeting, Brigadier Babu proposed the establishment of a Telangana Ex-Servicemen Corporation. The proposal aims to improve welfare initiatives and provide better institutional support for retired servicemen in the State.

Responding positively, the Chief Minister directed officials to prepare the required framework. He also asked them to study similar models functioning in other States.

Ex-servicemen welfare proposal under review

Brigadier Babu urged the government to convene the long-pending Rajya Sainik Board meeting. The Chief Minister of Telangana serves as the chairman of the board.

Revanth Reddy assured officials that the government would examine the feasibility of conducting the meeting at the earliest.

Another issue discussed during the meeting was the constitution of the State Managing Committee chaired by the Governor. The Chief Minister assured that the government would issue the required orders soon.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to ex-servicemen welfare, Revanth Reddy said retired personnel and their families could submit additional concerns through his office for detailed review.

CM Special Secretary Ajit Reddy and Regional Sainik Welfare Officer Srinesh Kumar Nori also attended the meeting.
