Major General G Srinivas takes charge of Telangana and Andhra Sub Area

Hyderabad: Major General G Srinivas on Wednesday assumed charge as Major General G Srinivas, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Telangana and Andhra Sub Area. He began his tenure by paying homage to fallen soldiers and laying a wreath at the War Memorial in Hyderabad.

A senior artillery officer with more than 35 years of service, G Srinivas has held several command, staff and instructional appointments during his military career.

Major General G Srinivas brings extensive experience

Major Srinivas has served with the United Nations mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He has also held assignments in the Military Secretary Branch, commanded a brigade in a Strike Formation, served as Brigadier Quartermaster of a Corps and worked as Chief Instructor at the School of Artillery.

In addition, he has served at the College of Defence Management. He holds an M.Phil. in Defence and Security Studies as well as an M.Phil. in Management Studies.

As General Officer Commanding, he will oversee military administration, veterans’ welfare and civil-military coordination across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
