Hyderabad: The 78th Indian Army Day was observed with a wreath laying ceremony at the War Memorial, 1 EME Centre in Secunderabad. Headquarters Telangana and Andhra Sub Area led the commemoration.
Major General Ajay Misra, General Officer Commanding, paid tribute alongside senior officers and soldiers. Together, they honoured the memory of those who gave their lives in service to the nation.
Indian Army Day commemorates January 15, 1949 when Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa became the first Indian Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army. The day stands as a tribute to the bravery, discipline, and dedication of the armed forces in defending India’s sovereignty.
The ceremony also offered a moment of reflection. Personnel at the Centre renewed their commitment to uphold the Army’s legacy and continue serving with honour and integrity.
