Balkampet Yellamma Kalyanam held with traditional grandeur

Hyderabad: Balkampet Yellamma Kalyanam was conducted with traditional grandeur under the supervision of the Endowments Department on Tuesday. Thousands of devotees and several dignitaries attended the annual celestial wedding ceremony.

Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and Endowments Minister Konda Surekha offered silk robes to Goddess Yellamma on behalf of the Telangana government. Later, they witnessed the ceremonial wedding of the presiding deity.

Members of the Chief Minister’s family attended the event as chief guests. In addition, family members of Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Konda Surekha, Government Whip Addanki Dayakar, Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy’s wife Kavya Reddy, and MLAs Danam Nagender, Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Naveen Yadav attended the celebrations. Endowments Department officials welcomed the guests with traditional temple honours.

The Endowments Department arranged facilities in line with government guidelines. Accordingly, officials ensured that devotees witnessed the Balkampet Yellamma Kalyanam and had darshan without inconvenience.

Balkampet Yellamma Kalyanam attracts thousands of devotees

Endowments Commissioner Hanumantha Rao and Temple Chairman Sai Baba supervised the festival arrangements. Meanwhile, officials ensured uninterrupted drinking water and electricity throughout the event. They also managed crowd movement to facilitate smooth darshan.

Devotees continued to arrive in large numbers after the celestial wedding ceremony. Thereafter, many offered prayers and sought the blessings of Goddess Yellamma.

Hyderabad District Collector Dr Priyanka Ala, DCP Traffic Kajal Singh, Joint Commissioner Ramakrishna Rao, Executive Officer Vinod Reddy and officials from the Electricity, GHMC, HMWSSB, Medical, Revenue, Endowments and Police departments attended the celebrations.
