Hyderabad: Cyberabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner reviewed Hitech City civic issues during a visit to Masthan Nagar Slum under the One Ward Every Day programme.
The Commissioner inspected local infrastructure with the area MLA, Zonal Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner and departmental heads. They also interacted with residents and recorded complaints concerning essential civic services.
Hitech City civic issues include water and borewells
Residents raised concerns over old borewells and damaged electrical connections linked to them. They sought repairs and restoration to improve local water access.
Meanwhile, residents complained about inadequate Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board supply. They said low distribution pressure had affected regular drinking water availability in the locality.
The officials also received complaints about underground drainage leakages. In addition, residents reported sewage mixing with drinking water in some areas.
The Commissioner directed the departments concerned to inspect the water supply and drainage network on priority. Officials were asked to identify the causes and begin corrective work at the earliest.
Hitech City civic issues cover streetlights and hall
Residents also raised the problem of non-functional streetlights in Masthan Nagar. Therefore, the Commissioner instructed the electrical wing to inspect and restore the lights without delay.
The delegation also discussed a proposal to construct a community hall on available government land. Residents sought the facility for meetings, social programmes and other public activities. Accordingly, officials were asked to examine the land and assess the feasibility of the proposal.
The Commissioner directed all departments to coordinate their response and submit action plans. He also instructed them to take up urgent works first and resolve the identified Hitech City civic issues quickly. The inspection formed part of the One Ward Every Day initiative, which focused on direct field-level review and public interaction.
