Harish Rao calls Revanth Reddy a ‘brand ambassador of lies’ over Miyapur lands

Hyderabad: Former minister and BRS leader T. Harish Rao accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of spreading falsehoods over the Miyapur lands issue on Saturday. Rejecting the Miyapur lands allegations against BRS leaders, he described Revanth Reddy as the “brand ambassador of lies”. Harish Rao also remarked that the Chief Minister deserved an Oscar award for his alleged false statements.

Addressing the media at Telangana Bhavan, the BRS leader condemned Revanth Reddy’s allegations following the Supreme Court’s observation that the disputed Miyapur lands belonged to the Telangana government. He accused the Chief Minister of attempting to claim credit for the legal outcome through misleading statements against the previous BRS administration.

Harish Rao rejects Miyapur lands allegations against BRS

Harish Rao alleged that Revanth Reddy was attempting to take political credit for the government’s position in the Miyapur land dispute. He claimed that the Chief Minister was preparing to sell the lands even before obtaining a copy of the Supreme Court judgment.

The former minister questioned the government’s urgency and criticised Revanth Reddy’s statements targeting BRS leaders. He maintained that the previous BRS government had undertaken legal efforts to protect the disputed lands.

According to Harish Rao, the legal battle began after K. Chandrashekar Rao assumed office as Telangana Chief Minister. He said the BRS administration had appointed senior advocate Vaithyanathan to represent the government’s interests.

The previous government subsequently pursued legal proceedings to secure the lands for the state, he claimed. Harish Rao argued that Revanth Reddy’s accusations overlooked those efforts and misrepresented the BRS government’s role.

BRS leader raises Manchirevula land dispute

Continuing his criticism, Harish Rao referred to 142 acres of land at Manchirevula. He claimed that the previous BRS government had taken pride in protecting the land from private interests.

However, he alleged that the Congress government had attempted to transfer the property to private individuals. The former minister further claimed that 10 acres at Manchirevula had already been handed over to private parties.

He contrasted the alleged actions of the Congress administration with the land protection measures undertaken during BRS rule. Harish Rao also cited government lands at Bhupalpally and Hayathnagar.

He claimed that the previous administration had made concerted efforts to safeguard those properties. The BRS leader maintained that his party’s government had worked to protect public land holdings across Telangana.

Harish Rao alleges ₹10,000 crore loan against university land

Harish Rao also accused the Revanth Reddy government of raising a ₹10,000 crore loan by mortgaging land belonging to the Central University. He made the allegation while questioning the Congress administration’s handling of government properties.

The former minister linked the alleged borrowing arrangement to his broader criticism of the government’s land-related decisions. Meanwhile, he continued to dispute the Miyapur lands allegations made against BRS leaders.

Harish Rao maintained that the previous administration had pursued legal measures to secure government lands rather than surrender them to private interests. His remarks followed the Supreme Court’s observation concerning the ownership of the Miyapur lands. The supplied report did not include a response from the Chief Minister or the Congress government to Harish Rao’s allegations.
