Hyderabad: Telangana Government advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir said the Youth Congress was a platform that shaped future political leadership and urged young leaders to fight for public issues and strengthen the party at the grassroots level.
Addressing the Bhiknoor Mandal executive committee meeting at SV Garden in Bhiknoor town on Monday, Shabbir Ali said several prominent leaders in the state and country had emerged through the organisation.
He recalled his own political journey and said he had actively participated in agitations during his early political career. He said he even underwent a month-long jail term during an Assembly protest movement.
Shabbir Ali said those struggles later became the foundation of his political career. He added that he became a minister at the age of 32 because of the experience gained through organisational activities.
Youth Congress leaders urged to work among people
The advisor said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy also recognised the sacrifices and struggles of young party leaders. He said only leaders with commitment and fighting spirit would have a strong political future.
Shabbir Ali urged youth leaders to stay among the people and understand public problems. He also asked them to raise their voice against corruption and anti-people policies.
The Congress leader stressed the importance of forming party committees in every village. He said the Congress party always recognised hardworking leaders and provided opportunities for political growth.
During the programme, Shabbir Ali distributed appointment letters to newly elected mandal and town presidents. State Youth Congress leader Mohammed Ilyas and District Youth Congress president Madhusudan attended the event.
Earlier, Shabbir Ali participated in Indiramma housing scheme housewarming ceremonies at Rameshwarampally village in Biknoor mandal.
Addressing beneficiaries, he said the Congress government was implementing welfare schemes to improve the lives of poor families. He said the Indiramma housing scheme aimed to provide dignified housing for homeless people.
Shabbir Ali said the government sanctioned 3,500 houses for every Assembly constituency and was allotting them to eligible beneficiaries.
