Hyderabad: Telangana Roads, Buildings and Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said the Telangana government had sanctioned ₹900 crore for Vikarabad road development. He made the announcement after launching road construction and strengthening works worth ₹290 crore in the Tandur Assembly constituency.
The minister inaugurated the projects with IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Legislative Council Chief Whip Patnam Mahender Reddy, MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, MLAs Buyyani Manohar Reddy and Kale Yadaiah, District Collector Deepak Tiwari and other public representatives.
Speaking at a public meeting at JPR Garden in Kandanelli, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said the government had allocated substantial funds for road infrastructure across Telangana. He said Tandur alone received ₹290 crore under the broader Vikarabad road development programme.
Better roads would attract industries, boost trade and create employment, the minister said. He added that officials would begin the sanctioned works immediately. He also highlighted several development programmes implemented during the past 30 months.
Vikarabad road development linked to welfare initiatives
Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said the government was issuing ration cards to eligible low-income families across the state. It was also supplying fine-quality rice and LPG cylinders with a subsidy of ₹500.
He said women’s self-help groups were receiving interest-free loans of up to ₹10 lakh to strengthen their economic position. The government also credited ₹900 crore to farmers’ accounts within nine days under the Rythu Bharosa scheme.
The minister said the state was establishing Young India Schools to strengthen government education in rural areas. He also assured residents that work on the ₹94-crore railway overbridge would begin within 18 weeks after the pending court case was resolved.
IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said the government was improving the economy while investing in infrastructure. He said foundation stones had been laid for major roads worth ₹261 crore. He added that stronger transport infrastructure remained essential for sustained development.
The minister said the government had sanctioned ₹30 crore to prevent sewage from entering the Kagna River. He also said it had implemented the promised farm loan waiver of up to ₹2 lakh.
According to Sridhar Babu, the government conducted Group-I, Group-II and other recruitment examinations to create employment opportunities for 70,000 candidates. He added that students now received quality mid-day meals along with breakfast in government schools.
He also said the government allotted double-bedroom houses to 571 eligible beneficiaries in Tandur municipality through a transparent process. Approvals for internal drainage projects would follow after officials prepared detailed plans.
Vikarabad road development receives local support
Legislative Council Chief Whip Patnam Mahender Reddy said the government continued to implement welfare programmes across the state. He welcomed the allocation for road development in Vikarabad and Rangareddy districts. He added that better roads would improve transport connectivity and sought additional funds for roads along the Karnataka border.
Tandur MLA Buyyani Manohar Reddy said the government had secured significant funds for the constituency. He said it established an ATC at a cost of ₹75 crore for minority welfare and trained 165 people last year. He added that the government had also sanctioned a 30-bed hospital and a junior college for Basheerabad.

Venkatachari, Assistant Trainee Collector Sachin Baswaraj Gutturu, RDO Anita, R&B SE Vasantha Naik, Arya Vysya Corporation Chairperson Kalva Sujatha, Municipal Chairperson Neeraja Bal Reddy, Kandanelli Sarpanch Yadamma Srinivas and other public representatives attended the programme.
