Hyderabad: The Telangana government launched online applications for Christian minorities schemes under the Online Beneficiary Management and Monitoring System (OBMMS) to promote self-employment and entrepreneurship among eligible beneficiaries.
The Telangana Christian Minorities Finance Corporation (TGCMFC) introduced online application forms for the Sewing Machine Scheme for Christian minority women and the Motor Bike, e-Bike, Scooty, e-Scooter and Petty Business schemes for Christian minorities.
Christian minorities schemes open for online applications
Minister for Public Enterprises and Minorities Welfare Mohammed Azharuddin inaugurated the online application portal on Friday. He said the initiatives reflected the government’s commitment to the socio-economic empowerment of Christian minorities.
The Minister said the Sewing Machine Scheme would help eligible women establish home-based tailoring units and achieve financial independence. He added that the Motor Bike, Scooty and e-Scooter scheme would support youth engaged in self-employment and delivery services. Furthermore, he said the Petty Business Scheme would help entrepreneurs establish or expand small businesses.
Government Advisor on Minorities Welfare Mohammad Shabbir Ali, TGCMFC Chairman Deepak John, Secretary to Government B. Shafiullah, IFS, Minorities Welfare Department Director Abdul Hameed, IAS, TGCMFC Managing Director P. Sabitha and senior officials attended the launch programme.
Eligible applicants from Christian minority communities can apply online from July 3 to July 18, 2026, until 5 pm.
Applicants for the Sewing Machine and Petty Business schemes must be between 21 and 55 years of age. Applicants for the Motor Bike, e-Bike, Scooty and e-Scooter schemes must be between 21 and 50 years of age.
The annual family income should not exceed ₹2 lakh in urban areas and ₹1.5 lakh in rural areas. Eligible candidates can submit applications through the OBMMS portal.
