Hyderabad: TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud assured ST leaders of corporation chairman posts and adequate representation in committees while calling for greater unity within the Congress.
He said the party would provide due representation to ST and Lambadi communities. Moreover, he asked leaders to set aside differences and work together to strengthen the organisation. Mahesh Kumar Goud made the remarks at an executive meeting of the Telangana State Adivasi Congress at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday.
State Adivasi Congress chairman Kethavath Shankar Naik led the meeting. The session focused on elections to the state executive and district president posts. Mahesh Kumar Goud attended as the chief guest and gave organisational directions to party leaders.
ST corporation chairman posts and committee roles assured
Mahesh Kumar Goud said ST corporation chairman posts would be provided while adequate importance would also be given to the community in committees. He assured party workers that those who had worked hard for the Congress would receive appropriate recognition and positions.
The TPCC chief also stressed the need to expand the Adivasi Congress across Telangana. Furthermore, he asked leaders to strengthen the party structure from the village to the state level. The meeting discussed measures to strengthen the organisation and expand its activities across the state.
Leaders also discussed taking the Congress party’s ideology and the state government’s welfare schemes to a wider section of people. Mahesh Kumar Goud said party leaders and workers shared responsibility for communicating government welfare programmes to the public.
Adivasi Congress discusses organisational expansion
The meeting also reviewed preparations for the Adivasi Congress state executive elections and the selection of district presidents. Party leaders discussed organisational strengthening and the expansion of the Adivasi Congress at different levels.
Mahesh Kumar Goud called for unity among leaders while pursuing these objectives. He said strengthening the party should remain their common priority. The TPCC president reiterated that ST and Lambadi communities would receive due representation within the Congress organisation.
Adivasi Congress vice-chairpersons, district presidents and state executive members attended the meeting. Senior leaders and representatives from various districts also participated in the executive session at Gandhi Bhavan.
